About
Our Firm
UMAN is a Firm where Architecture Serves Humanity.
Drawing on the expertise of nearly 40 talented individuals, our team is dedicated daily to shaping inspiring and innovative spaces that meet the architectural challenges of today and tomorrow.
Our various achievements include public buildings, housing, commercial, industrial, and heritage restoration projects. We have also undertaken large-scale projects such as the Namur and Huy cable cars.
This great diversity also allows us to convey a unique philosophy and DNA through each of our projects.
A true
team spirit.
UMAN architect is above all a human endeavor driven by a multi-talented team, where everyone thrives by sharing their ideas, intuitions, and creative sensibility.
At the heart of our firm, in addition to architectural projects, there is a true team life built on common values, moments of exchange, trust, and the joy of working together.
This unique spirit of ours is particularly evident during our unifying team-building events, shared office gatherings, and at UMAN Lab, our idea exploration space.
These are all opportunities for everyone to express themselves, learn from others, and help the team grow.
At UMAN, team spirit is more than just a word: it is a living, creative, and shared culture.
Expanding our expertise, strengthening our proximity.
Over the course of its development, UMAN has broadened its scope of work to better address the challenges of each project.
This evolution led to the creation of ÔME architect, specialising in single-family residential projects in Belgium, with an approach tailored to private clients.
In the same spirit, UMAN is now establishing a presence in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, marking a new stage in its journey.
These developments reflect a constant ambition: to remain close to every project while maintaining a coherent, demanding and human architectural vision.

After graduating as an architect from the Institut Supérieur d’Architecture Saint-Luc in Liège in 1985, Damien HUBLET spent the first twenty years of his career working with various architecture firms in Switzerland, Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
It was in the latter country that, in 2006, he decided to establish his own practice, Atelier d’Architecture Extenso.
For nearly twenty years, he developed Extenso into a thriving practice, dedicating himself fully to the company alongside his team. Passionate about his profession, Damien places particular importance on the human dimension in all his professional relationships. He is also known for his spontaneity, his sense of humour and his approachable nature, both with his team and his clients.
His commitment to architecture extends beyond his own practice. For almost three years, he has been actively involved with the Order of Architects – Conseil francophone et germanophone. Since January 2026, he has served as Treasurer and as a delegate to the National Council of the Order of Architects and to the French- and German-speaking Council of the Order of Architects.
As a father of three, Damien has always successfully balanced family life with his life as an entrepreneur.
In 2026, after twenty years devoted to Extenso, he decided to pass his practice on to UMAN and to write the next chapter of his story alongside them. Still involved as managing director, he is now helping shape this new adventure with a desire to share his experience, expertise and his warm, humorous approach to human relationships.

After completing my secondary studies at Travaux Publics de Liège, followed by a special mathematics program to prepare for higher education, I attended the Institut Lambert Lombard in Liège, where I received my architecture diploma. I immediately established myself as an independent architect while also working in several architecture offices.
A certain individual named Pierre Maes welcomed me into his growing team, providing valuable experience and opportunities. Now, at retirement age, I was offered a new challenge, which I gladly accepted, recognizing that the merging of skills and goals was giving rise to UMAN Architect.
This new horizon proved stimulating, and I was honored to be part of it. The merger of the three firms (HP Architecture, Contraste, and Pierre Maes & Associés) opened up new areas of practice previously unexplored, all working toward a shared goal of development. Long live the future.

As an architect, Morgan Delvaux has been developing a practice informed by diverse approaches to design for over ten years. After gaining experience with Junya Ishigami in Tokyo and Herzog & de Meuron in Basel, she co-founded Laboratoire before joining UMAN architect. Alongside her practice, she teaches at the University of Liège.
Her work explores how architecture can support a world in transition. She sees the territory as a material for design – its landscapes, resources, uses and traces – and architecture as a means of revealing new ways of living, sharing and transforming our environment.
Building on this focus on resources and what already exists, circularity and the ecological transition play a central role in her research. Rather than seeing them as constraints, she considers them levers for reinventing the project: transforming rather than replacing, working with what already exists, using less and using it better, and allowing new spatialities to emerge from these choices. Architectural ambition and environmental responsibility thus contribute to the same goal: creating generous, sustainable places designed with the collective in mind.
This line of thinking also leads her to question the role of the architect and their ability to bring together the many stakeholders who shape our living environment. These questions inform both her teaching and her engagement in the architectural debate, notably as a guest speaker as part of the HouseEurope! initiative.
Deeply attached to Wallonia, her native region, Morgan sees it as a context rich in resources and possibilities, whose evolution she wishes to actively support. For her, the built environment is one of the visible expressions of a society: its quality contributes to the attractiveness of a region, as well as to the sense of belonging of those who live there and their desire to care for it.
Her arrival at UMAN architect is rooted in a shared ambition to give greater prominence to territorial issues, circularity and the ecological transition within the firm’s projects and practices. She intends to contribute actively to this ambition by bringing together her attention to the local context with the experience she has gained and the connections she has built abroad. Her work is thus rooted in Wallonia while opening up new perspectives for reflection and collaboration beyond its borders.
