Our Firm

UMAN is a Firm where Architecture Serves Humanity.

Drawing on the expertise of nearly 40 talented individuals, our team is dedicated daily to shaping inspiring and innovative spaces that meet the architectural challenges of today and tomorrow.

Our various achievements include public buildings, housing, commercial, industrial, and heritage restoration projects. We have also undertaken large-scale projects such as the Namur and Huy cable cars.

This great diversity also allows us to convey a unique philosophy and DNA through each of our projects.

A true
team spirit.

UMAN Architect is above all a human endeavor driven by a multi-talented team, where everyone thrives by sharing their ideas, intuitions, and creative sensibility.

At the heart of our firm, in addition to architectural projects, there is a true team life built on common values, moments of exchange, trust, and the joy of working together.

This unique spirit of ours is particularly evident during our unifying team-building events, shared office gatherings, and at UMAN Lab, our idea exploration space.

These are all opportunities for everyone to express themselves, learn from others, and help the team grow.

At UMAN, team spirit is more than just a word: it is a living, creative, and shared culture.

After completing my secondary studies at Travaux Publics de Liège, followed by a special mathematics program to prepare for higher education, I attended the Institut Lambert Lombard in Liège, where I received my architecture diploma. I immediately established myself as an independent architect while also working in several architecture offices.

A certain individual named Pierre Maes welcomed me into his growing team, providing valuable experience and opportunities. Now, at retirement age, I was offered a new challenge, which I gladly accepted, recognizing that the merging of skills and goals was giving rise to UMAN Architect.

This new horizon proved stimulating, and I was honored to be part of it. The merger of the three firms (HP Architecture, Contraste, and Pierre Maes & Associés) opened up new areas of practice previously unexplored, all working toward a shared goal of development. Long live the future.
