Inspired by ancestral arts, mathematics, and philosophical thoughts on life and the universe, Guy Lemaire never resists the compelling urge to paint. When he creates one of his canvases, his concentration is such that it allows him to escape the world, deep within himself. And yet, with great freedom, almost innocence, he expresses a critical perspective through his work. The canvases and photos he presents at Uman are very restrained compared to what he has previously exhibited. No devastated bodies, daring nudes, or images that could shock.
