The future fire station of the Zone de secours Luxembourg in Marche-en-Famenne<\/a> was recently highlighted as part of a visit day dedicated to off-site timber construction. The event was organised by CAP Construction in collaboration with Ligne Bois, Fili\u00e8re Bois Wallonie, Luxinnovation and FIBOIS Grand Est. <\/p>\n\n

The visit gave the professionals in attendance the opportunity to discover the project\u2019s specific features, including its prefabricated glued laminated timber structure produced by Structure Wood. This approach demonstrates the benefits of off-site industrialisation: high execution accuracy, controlled quality through prefabrication, and optimised construction times for a large-scale public project. <\/p>\n\n

Bringing together architects, engineers, contractors and stakeholders from the timber industry, this meeting encouraged discussions around sustainable construction solutions and the evolution of practices within the sector. It also highlighted the growing role of timber and prefabrication in the transition of construction towards more efficient and responsible models. <\/p>\n\n

The project is being carried out for the Zone de secours Luxembourg in collaboration with Bureau d\u2019\u00e9tudes Pierre Berger, JM Lacasse Monfort (SML Ing\u00e9nieurs conseils), Atelier DR(EA)\u00b2M, G\u00e9nie Tec Belgium and Houyoux Constructions.<\/p>\n\n
