Almost five years ago, Sébastien Deckmyn, David Hotua, Pierre Poncelet and Fabrizio Tengattini, four architects, but above all four friends, set out to bring their visions and perspectives together around a shared project: UMAN architect.
The initiative was driven by a strong conviction: to place people back at the heart of architecture and to make collaboration a true creative strength.
From the very beginning, Pierre Maes naturally became part of this adventure, joining the practice in its first year as a partner. After leading his own firm, Pierre Maes & Associés, with dedication and high standards, he brought that same rigor and vision to the growth and development of UMAN.
At the beginning of 2026, Pierre chose to embark on a new personal chapter by stepping down from his roles as Director and partner, while remaining fully committed to the practice as a team member.
UMAN architect continues its journey under the leadership of its four Directors, Sébastien Deckmyn, David Hotua, Pierre Poncelet and Fabrizio Tengattini, and with the commitment of its entire team.
