The Collegiate Church of Dinant is making headlines!
Our office had the privilege of welcoming the Bishop of Namur-Luxembourg, Fabien Lejeusne, for a very special site visit: the restoration of the south porch of this listed building, a jewel of Walloon heritage.
Supported by temporary shoring for nearly twenty years, the porch was at risk of collapse. Thanks to funding granted by the Walloon Region, restoration works are now well underway.
Étienne Burnon, architect at UMAN, guided the bishop through the various phases of this highly technical project: driving piles up to 8 metres deep, dismantling and numbering the stones, and restoring the structure identically using materials sourced from historic French quarries. A meticulous undertaking worthy of the exceptional heritage represented by the collegiate church.
Completion of the works is now expected by the end of the year.
We are proud to contribute to the preservation of this monument and would like to thank the City of Dinant, the AWaP, and the Walloon Region for their trust.
