La Cova

Complete modernisation of the La Cova sports complex for the City of Arlon.

Designed as a structuring facility at the scale of the city, the project translates a clear ambition into architecture: to provide Arlon with a coherent, scalable, and accessible sports hub for everyone.

The program includes four natural and synthetic turf football fields compliant with sports federation standards, an eight-lane athletics track for all disciplines, twelve changing rooms, referees’ facilities, technical and public reception areas, as well as a parking area with one hundred and ten spaces.

The infrastructures are organized to accommodate both school activities and competitive events, with circulation designed for athletes, spectators, and service operations alike. The entire site is arranged to ensure clarity, safety, and user comfort.

The architectural challenge was to work with a constrained topography while preserving the natural character of the site. The buildings are integrated discreetly into the existing landscape through a functional and sustainable approach, incorporating technical, regulatory, budgetary, and environmental considerations from the earliest design stages.

The intended result is a facility designed to last and evolve alongside the city’s needs, from amateur users to high-level competitors.

A project carried out in partnership with Atelier d’architecture et d’urbanisme L’Equerre.
